How Bottles and Cans Can Earn You Cash!

December 27, 2021

Multiple streams of income is never a bad idea, especially when you’re making money from something you use every day.

The average Adelaide resident uses bottled, and canned goods almost daily and simply disposes of the containers afterwards. Don’t dispose of them; keep them—they can fetch you major cash.

Many people have been making money from the bottle and can recycling in Adelaide, and you should tap into it. Your bottles and cans can earn you cash through:

Deposit schemes

There are recycling schemes in Adelaide that offer cash in exchange for your bottles. The container deposit scheme is one of the ways you can earn some money for bottles and recycling in Adelaide.

The container deposit scheme works by adding a small amount to the price of a beverage; bottles and aluminium cans.

After consumption, you return these beverage goods to a collection depot where the deposit you paid is refunded.

This scheme gives you money for purchasing goods you usually buy. All you need to do is know the bottles and cans that are covered by the container deposit scheme.

Recycling depots

Adelaide recycling depots can also give you money in exchange for your bottle and cans. You need to locate a recycling depot near you and then discuss the type of bottles and cans they accept.

You should let your bottles and cans pile up before going to a recycling depot so you can get more money and won’t have to take frequent trips.

You can make money from the deposit scheme and your normal bottles and cans with Thorntons recycling.

However, before you can start making money from your bottles and cans, you’ll need to prepare your bottles and cans.

Here are some things you’ll have to do before you bring them in:

Clean them

Bottles and cans have to be clean when you’re bringing them in. They should be free of all liquid and food before you bring them to our recycling depot.

Dirty bottles and cans lose all ability to be recycled as they’ll be contaminated. Before you put your bottles and cans in the recycling bin, clean them with soap and water, or at least rinse them.

Only clean bottles are accepted for bottle recycling.

Only bottles and cans

There have been many instances where we receive other items along with the bottles and cans. It’s an understandable mistake because putting food wraps or other dirt in the bin is quite easy. That’s why it’s important you inspect your basket before you bring them into our depot. Ensure it’s only bottles and cans that you’re bringing in.

Pristine condition

Your bottles and cans need to be in good condition before you bring them in. Only items in pristine condition are acceptable because crushed ones complicate the sorting process. Your bottles should be in a state where you can reuse them if necessary.

Also, remove the caps off your bottles before you bring them in, so you can drop them off and leave without wasting time. Are you ready to make money? Message us .
