RECYCLE WITH THORNTONS AND CREATE A CLEANER ADELAIDE!

TAKING YOUR PART IN SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT

As human beings, we have advanced an awful lot, and we’ve created and still use every day some very fantastic things. We can never picture living without these pieces of stuff. However, we are continually coming up with new ideas that become more stuff! With all these items comes the responsibility for us to take all necessary steps to continue to avoid the pollution of the Earth.

A wise man once quipped: “With great power comes great responsibility.” – that is indeed true for the Herculean task of maintaining a beautiful environment for future generations to enjoy. Luckily, in Adelaide, it’s clear that our residents take supporting our beautiful city seriously and that’s reflected in the statistical increase in recycling in the city of Adelaide.

As locals, we know how gorgeous our beaches, hills and parks are. They deserve to stay as such for many years to come. The power of recycling, aided by your help and as well from the team at Thorntons Adelaide, will allow us to bathe in the charming nature of our city and keep it free from unwanted contaminants.

Thorntons Recycling Adelaide  has put together a few reasons to keep Adelaide clean and continue recycling with us over the busy Christmas period!

RECYCLING SAVES OUR ADELAIDE RESOURCES

When we recycle, no matter what it is, we reduce the demand for raw materials and the consumption of natural resources. Although we have improved dramatically in our recycling attitudes around Adelaide, we do still live in a throwaway society.

Items like furniture are no longer long-lasting, and there is a massive turnover on broken and damaged goods continually needing replacement. A good tip is to re-fashion old furniture from hard rubbish as a little project; good recycling practices come in many forms!

Buying products that are quality and made to last is an excellent long-term investment that helps keep waste out of landfills. Additionally, handing down pieces of furniture to your family members is a great and sentimental way to recycle things you no longer use.

HELP TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT

Even in a city as free from litter and plain rubbish such as Adelaide, one place you probably have unfortunately encountered significant amounts of waste is our beaches. Many plastic bottles end up on our shores and although some local Adelaide legends go out and pick up trash every day, more still needs to be done.

Try to save every plastic bottle. You can even leave a garbage bag or some receptacle in your car to catch any leftover bottles and once it’s full, combine it with what you have at home and bring them down to the team at Thorntons. Don’t forget you’ll receive a rebate!
