Recycling Tips for a Better 2022

March 11, 2022

The environmental benefits of recycling are innumerable. It combats a range of environmental issues that could help make the world a better place. And if you’re new to it, don’t be too harsh on yourself. It’s never too late to recycle.

The most important tip is to take it easy on yourself. Don’t go all out and recycle every single thing you see. You’ll get burnt out quickly. Be simple; take it one step at a time till it becomes a habit.

Whether you’re struggling with recycling or a beginner, here are some recycling tips you’ll love.

Joining support groups

Being a part of a community of recyclers will make all the difference in your recycling. There’s nothing wrong with recycling alone – it could just get boring. And you may find yourself getting demotivated when you don’t have friends or families that recycle.

Connecting with people that are experiencing the same things concerning recycling is helpful. Connecting with like-minded people will teach you a lot and encourage you.

Support groups also help out local communities, schools, recycling depots, etc., making you feel more fulfilled. If you’re getting bored with recycling, this could be what you need to get inspiration.

Defining what you want to recycle

There are so many things to recycle. Plastics, cans, metals, etc. It’s fine if you want to recycle everything you can get your hands on. But you should be careful.

You may get burnt out early if you gather every recyclable product you come across. Before you know it, you’ll be too tired to recycle anything.

Instead, here’s what you can do:

  • Know what you want to recycle majorly. Is it bottles, cans or scrap metal? A good way to know the products you should focus on is by use. Which of them do you use a lot? If it’s bottles and cans, focus on them.

  • Have bins for other types of items. Focusing on one item doesn’t mean you can’t recycle others. Place bins in your Adelaide home or business for metal or any other type of recyclable item. This way, you can easily recycle them whenever you see them.

If you’re planning to focus on bottles and cans, you’ll need a recycling depot. A depot ensures that your bottles become new items through the necessary processes. Bring all your bottles to Thornton’s recycling and earn some extra cash on the side.

Have recycling bins everywhere

Recycling doesn’t end at home. If you want to do it properly, you should recycle on the go, at your office and on outings. So, how do you do this?

Have a small recycling bin you can put in your office. Place it right beside your wastebasket so it’s not out of sight. You can also keep a small recycling basket in your car so that you can recycle at outings and drives.

Another helpful recycling tip is to use more recyclable items. For example, try buying recyclable bags, stores, etc., to reduce waste.

Schedule pick-ups with Thornton’s to take the hassle out of recycling.
