Our bottle and can recycling Adelaide depot is conveniently located in Thebarton, just 5km from the Adelaide CBD.
We accept all different types of bottles, from glass to soft plastic, with and without the “10c refund” marking. We also offer fast drive-thru, drop-off and commercial pick-up services.
Can and bottle recycling Adelaide is currently incentivised by the South Australian Government's Container Deposit Scheme (CDS).
The CDS allows a 10-cent refund to be provided for approved beverage containers, many of which will state “10c refund at collection depots when sold in SA” on the label.
This includes many types of glass, plastic, liquid paperboard and aluminium containers, bottles and cans.
As a local, family owned and operated business, we’re passionate about protecting Adelaide’s resources and maintaining a sustainable future for generations to come.

Founded over 40 years ago, Thorntons Bottle Recycling Depot started as a small facility in Thebarton. It has since grown to become one of Adelaide’s leading recycling centres and expanded into a state-of-the-art depot.
As our client base grew over the years, we’ve reinvested our resources into improving our recycling technology and in turn expanding our list of recyclable items. Why? Because having a sustainable business means that we can enjoy a cleaner, greener Adelaide.

Being just a few minutes from Adelaide CBD in Thebarton means that clients from all northern, eastern, southern and western suburbs of Adelaide can easily drop in.
The simple act of dropping off recyclables can help towards reducing landfill and pollution, conserve our natural energy resources and cut greenhouse gas emissions. Plus, you’ll even get paid for your efforts. Small positive actions can add up to making a big difference over time.
