A Guide To Bottle and Can Recycling: Do’s and Don`ts

July 20, 2021

Bottle and can recycling becomes way more manageable when you know what and what not to do. You must not do certain things while recycling because it could impede your progress and affect the materials you're recycling.

The dos of a bottle and can recycling will make recycling so much easier and stress-free for you, so it's information you need to have. Knowing what you shouldn't do is okay, but it needs to be balanced with knowing what you need to do.

So here is a quick guide to the dos and don'ts of the bottle and can recycling:

Dos

Here are some things you should do while bottle and can recycling. This will guide you in knowing the practices that will make recycling much easier for you.

Stick To One Thing

if you want to recycle bottles and cans, do that. Stick to it and leave other forms of recycling. Most people who recycle always want to recycle as many things as possible, but it never works out. Don't try to gather scrap metal to recycle on the side because you want to recycle every type of material. It will divide your attention, and you'll end up not recycling much of anything.

Recycle Everywhere

Recycling doesn't have to end in your Adelaide home; you can take it out of the house too. If you go out to a park or a friend's house and you see stray bottles and cans, you can pick them up! Or at least tell them to gather it in a sack for you, and you'd be back to pick it up later.

Only recycling in your home will limit you to your home when you can still do a whole lot outside! You can also recycle in your office by having a special basket dedicated to recycling. In addition, you can encourage your co-workers to dump their used bottles and cans in your recycling bin.

When people see how dedicated you are to recycling, they'll want to pick up the habit too!

Don'ts

Avoid the following things if you want your bottle and can recycling to go well:

Avoid Storing Dirty Bottles And Cans

You should always try your best to clean your bottles and cans before you store them together. Dirty bottles and cans can get contaminated- thereby ruining the bottles and making them unfit for recycling.

One thing that can help you remember is to dump the dirty bottles and cans into a basket. Then when you've washed them, and they're clean, you'll put them in a sack you'll take to your recycling depot. When you do this, you'll know that the basket is for dirty bottles and cans while the sack is for the clean ones.

Recycle With A Waste Facility

A lot of waste facilities claim to recycle on the side, but one never really knows. So it’s advisable and safer to recycle with a recycling facility , preferably one that specialises in bottle and can recycling. A specialist recycling depot will be better equipped to deal with all the bottles and cans you want to recycle.

You could do everything wrong, and recycling with the wrong people can destroy your progress. So keep up your progress by recycling with Thornton's recycling in Adelaide!
